Taunton’s Farmers’ Market

THE Vale is a genuine Farmer and Producers co-operative which has grown from strength to strength since its launch in 1999. We are fully certified by FARMA – the National Farmers’ Retail & Markets Association, so you can be confident you are really buying local produce.

It all takes place in Taunton High Street, every Thursday from 9am until 3pm, year round.

Carols by Candlelight

AN evening of traditional carol singing by the congregation, interspersed with seasonal readings and music. Performances by Collegium Singers, Deputy Mayor of Taunton Councillor Catherine Herbert, Childline Councellor Rosey Stonehouse and others.

Evening rounded off with mulled wine or cordial and cake.

Tickets for the show at St Mary Magdalene Church, Church Square, Taunton at 6pm cost £7.50 per adult Children under 14 free with a ticket holder.

Cards for Good Causes Charity Christmas Shop

THIS is the UK’s largest multi-charity Christmas card organisation.

Buying your charity Christmas cards from us means you can choose from a wide range of designs and support more than one charity this Christmas. Choose designs from over 30 charities.

In the past five years, charities have received more than £20 million from Cards for Good Causes - representing at least 70p in every pound out of which charities had to pay for the production and distribution of their Christmas cards and any VAT.

The shop is at Taunton Visitor Centre, Market House, Fore Street in Taunton until December 23.

Further details online at clevehotel.com Saturday, December 16 n Taunton Wildlife Watch Christmas Crafts JOIN us for some festive fun at our Christmas Crafts Watch Group session.

We will be making willow wreaths, creating clay Christmas decorations and making wonderful crafty cards.

This is a family event and all children must be supervised throughout by a responsible adult. The session will be held indoors.

The event starts at 10am and finishes at noon.

It is free to attend and takes place at 34 Wellington Road, Taunton, Somerset.

Santa Scoot KIDS!

Bling up your scooters and join the gang for a magical walk and scoot to Santa’s grotto at CICCIC in Paul Street!

We’ll gather at the entrance to the cycle path on Bishop Fox’s Drive and take in the sights and sounds of winter as we follow the cycle path along the Stockwell Stream and on through the beautiful Vivary Park.

When the group arrives at CICCIC the children will have a chance to make some final touches to their scooter decorations before Santa arrives to inspect their handiwork. He’ll be awarding prizes for the best decorated scooter and all children will receive a small gift.

After meeting Santa children can have a go at a special grotto quiz while adults can grab themselves a coffee and a mince pie from the bar.

Hymn to the Queen of Heaven The Collegium Singers present: Hymn to the Queen of Heaven.

The music comes from Rachmaninov, Part, MacMillan, Britten, Victoria, Padilla.

It all takes place at Church of St John the Baptist, Wellington.

Tickets available from Taunton Visitor Centre and Wellington Taunton Information Centre They cost adult £12, Students: £6 and Under 12: free.

Taunton Christmas Market

TAUNTON Christmas Market will be in the High street until January 7 There will be hot food stalls, craft stalls and fabulous gift ideas.

Mayor’s Charity Carol Concert

A seasonal address will be shared by Bishop Ruth Worsley, Bishop of Taunton.

Contributions by Somerset Hills Chorus and Blackbrook Primary School The concert starts at 6.30pm. It is free entry. Donations welcome.

It all takes place at St Mary Magdalene Church, Church Square, Taunton.

Winter Wonderland See the Christmas Winter Wonderland at the CICCIC, Memorial Hall, Paul Street, Taunton.

The events run until December 23.
