WEST Country favourites, The Wurzels will be calling for people to ‘Drink up Thy Zider’ and raise cash for farmers in financial hardship.

The ever popular band are performing a special gig in aid of the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution.

The charity helps working farmers, farmworkers and their families who rely on farming for their main source of income.

Help can also be given to retired farmers, farmworkers and their dependants. In 2015, the charity gave out grants of £1.9 million to around 1,340 individuals and families and this included grants of more than £151k across Somerset.

Pam Wills, RABI regional manager for the South West, said: “You are always guaranteed a good night when The Wurzels are in town and seeing them perform on their home turf should be extra special.”

Tickets for The Wurzels show at the Bath & West Showground on April 1 cost £20 (including free pasty) and are available from Pam Wills on 01398 361819 or 07825 336224. Alternatively, email pam.wills@rabi.org.uk.
