CHEDDON Fitzpaine Flower Show will be held at the Memorial Hall from 2.30pm.

As well as the flower show there will be a fun dog show, stall, skittles and cream teas.

There will also be music by 2FARGONE n DISCOVER Taunton - Guided Tour Have you ever wondered about the stories behind buildings you pass every day? If so, The Museum of Somerset’s latest town tour might provide some answers.

‘Discover Taunton’ is a guided walking tour exploring the often-surprising history of Somerset’s county town.

The tour starts from Museum of Somerset Castle Green, Taunton.

ANGERSLEIGH Church holds its Summer Fair today, Saturday, July 29, at 2.30pm.

Amongst the attractions will be children’s activities and games, donkey rides, homemade teas, raffle, coconut shy, ice creams, Pimm’s Tent, glamorous bits and bobs, plant and produce and classic cars.

Somerset Chamber Choir with Southern Sinfonia present Serenade to Music The Somerset Chamber Choir, four talented young singers and the Southern Chamber Choir unite for a special concert at Wells Cathedral at 7pm.

Serenade to Music, a wide-ranging and multi-faceted programme, celebrates the power of music in a brilliant sequence of choral and solo vocal works from the 18th and 20th centuries.

Works include Bach’s “Nun ist das Heil und die Kraft BWV50”, Handel’s “The King Shall Rejoice”, Haydn’s “Te Deum”, Mozart’s”Exsultate, Jubilate K165 and Regina Coeli K276”, and Vaughan Williams’ “Serenade to Music”.

Tickets cost £10 - £25 and are available from the Taunton Visitor Centre.

WILD Wood Open Sunday at Young Wood, Badger Street, Taunton, Somerset, TA3 5AZ Neroche Woodlanders Open Sunday is the perfect opportunity to explore a wild wood near you, try out green crafts, have fun with the family and relax in a beautiful setting.

DILLINGTON Classical Guitar Festival This year we will be celebrating 23 years of the Dillington Guitar Festival.

The music of Spain and Latin America will feature throughout the week with concerts by some of today’s leading international ensembles and soloists.

2017 sees guitar virtuoso Graham Devine and the brilliant Copenhagen Guitar duo make their Festival debuts, while the fabulous Vida Quartet make a long overdue return visit to Dillington.

Festival Season Ticket £50 Highlights will include the brilliant Copenhagen Guitar duo performing works by Danish composers Anders Koppel & Martin Lohse and the fabulous Vida Quartet with works by Bach, Villa Lobos and Vaughan Williams.

Tickets cost £12 (under 18s £6) per concert and a Festival season ticket is available at £50. Pre-concert meals are available at £23 (must be booked in advance).

“VISIONS of the Landscape”

Landscape photography from all over the UK will be exhibited and displayed in the Orchard Centre, Taunton between August 1 and August13 by local professional landscape photographer Don Bishop.

Based at his gallery at the Willows & Wetlands Visitor Centre, Stoke St Gregory Don has travelled all over the UK, often covering many miles out and back in a day, making images of memorable landscape locations with a mind to capturing these in wonderful lighting conditions.

Much time is spent planning locations and working out the best light angles for the time of day and year of his visits, and frequently spending a long time on location waiting for the right light – if not deciding to return on another day/time of year.

It is Don’s passion for warm colourful lighting that drives him to get up early and travel many miles to achieve the stunning images.
