THE Great Dorset Steam Fair rolls into Blandford Forum on Wednesday for five days celebrating the heritage of engineering.

A galactic mixture of sounds is promised from more than 100 fairground and street organs, steam whistles and sirens and vintage tractors.

This year’s show runs from Wednesday to Sunday, August 31.

A special commemorative display to mark the centenary of the start of the First World War will feature in a Western Front area, a Home Front area and an exhibition marquee.

Tickets cost £20 for an adult day ticket and £8 for children with reduced ticket prices available for the Sunday.
