THE Creative Innovation Centre in Paul Street, Taunton, is hosting an exhibition of paintings by artist Ronald Cann.

In the 1950s, Ronald studied at the West of England College of Art in Bristol. Having obtained a degree in Illustration and the Art Teachers' Diploma, he taught art for more than 30 years in Norfolk and Taunton.

As well as teaching, he has worked as a freelance designer, specialising in travel literature (guide books and decorative maps) and even Wild West strip cartoons.

He has had numerous one-man shows and contributed to many group exhibitions. His work is in collections in England, Europe, Canada and the USA.

He is now inspired by the local scene, and travels in Europe and North America.

All landscapes and other work in this exhibition have been sketched, photographed and researched on the spot.

The exhibition, Ronald Cann: Scenes From Recent Travels, runs from February 18 to March 17.

CICCIC is open Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 12.30pm.
