DINERS at Miles at the Riverside in Taunton are in for a real treat on Friday (February 6, 2015) night as Australia’s folk-punk troubadour, Benny Mayhem, features on the music menu as guest artist.
Influenced by English and American rock, and Irish folk music, Benny Mayhem reflects his punk rock roots. He plays the kind of folk music that resonates strongest with Rock’n’Roll fans: fast, energetic and catchy.
“I feel a kindred spirit with Irish and colonial Australian folk,” he said. “My music steers away from the sullen introspection of contemporary singer-songwriters and is more aimed at getting people on their feet and singing.”
With lyrics that are as thought provoking lyrics as the tune is catchy, his recently-released first single, Mindless Greg the Media Consumer, will have you doing just that.
Also on the menu is an interesting mix of acoustic rock with resident musician, Matt Bond, and the acouso-electric rhythms of featured artist, Free Association.
Enjoy a two-course meal at Miles at the Riverside in St James Street and enjoy the music of Benny Mayhem. Doors open at 7.15pm and tickets are available at the café priced £25 per adult and £16 for under-16s.
