NOT many people can boast of playing guitar with Brian May, supported Hollywood comic Steve Martin and have their poetry approved as part of the West Indies Schools syllabus.

But Richard Digence is no ordinary entertainer. In fact, legendary broadcaster, Bob Harris, described him as a national treasure.

A glance at his CV, shows Richard is a BAFTA Nominated entertainer and a Gold Award recipient from The British Academy of Composers and Songwriters. He is also listed in the Virgin Anthology of Music as an influential writer of comedic songs.

But listening to the man, what comes across is the sheer versatility of his performance, his unique comedy and his expert guitar playing. In addition, he's just an all round nice guy who loves meeting his fans.

Now fans in Bridgwater can catch Richard when he plays at Nether Stowey Village Hall. Once you hear the great man in concert, you'll understand why he has survived all entertaining fads and trends with his two and a half hour one man show.

An established poet, his works are used around the world as English teaching aids for schools and universities including the Canadian Ministry of Education and the Thailan Commission of the Arts.

As a music composer for documentaries he has been awarded two Local Radio Awards with Ralph Bernard CBE and his music is used extensively on TV and film projects mainly in The United Kingdom, most recently by BBC Radio2

But most of all, he loves being on stage with his one man shows of music and comedy. So you never have to ask him why he longer appears on TV himself - he's just far too busy.
