A PLAY inspired by the recent floods across Somerset is one of this autumn's highlights at the Tacch-Morris Arts centre.

The River Spirit which features original music and a story inspired by a rich history of folklore, also raises questions about the current level of pollution and littering in waterways.

It tells the story of a small town and a dying river spirit which has become unwell, fractured into three, and losing all sense of who she once was.

Is Tam, a young man born and raised on the river banks, the only hope for this tormented spirit or is it up to all of us to save her?

The River Spirit invites the audience to actively respond to and question these events in a fantastical and immersive theatre experience.

The team behind the play, Pen & Rose Productions, specialise in events and theatrical productions. It is dedicated to providing creative platforms, combining different mediums of live performance, and making work relevant to the world today.

The company’s first solo theatrical project What is Future I? (WIFI), an immersive exploration into connection in the modern age, premiered September 2014 at the Tea House Theatre, Vauxhall. It combined theatre with live music, tea and cake.

September 15, at 7.30pm. Tickets £10 / £8 Concs. / £5 Student. Box: 01823 414141.
