ONE of the leading names in jazz, Julian Joseph, is performing a free-to-attend concert with his trio in the Taunton School Chapel on Friday, October 2.

Hailed as one of the finest pianists to emerge this side of the Atlantic, for over two decades, Julian Joseph has been a towering figure in contemporary jazz.

He is a prodigious composer and arranger, an admired and respected bandleader, an inspirational collaborator and educator, and a highly knowledgeable and engaging broadcaster.

Julian Joseph was central to the launch of the Associated Board’s jazz syllabus, which includes one of his own compositions, ‘Allfarthing Blues’.

A patron of the Jazz Development Trust (1998-2009), Julian is also currently a patron of The Firebird Trust and the Pembroke Academy of Music, an Ambassador for Youth Music and a member of Yamaha’s Jazz Experience team.

In January 2013 he opened his own Jazz Academy.
