WELLINGTON is the location for three music and cultural events this weekend to highlight the plight of the homeless and those on the poverty line.
Over Friday, Saturday and Sunday, three live music gigs will be held at three different Wellington venues as part of a project called We Shall Overcome which combines music and culture with raising funds for those who are less fortunate.
The Wellington events will be collecting cash donations for Taunton Association for the Homeless and food donations for the Food Bank.
On Friday October 2, the Friends Meeting House features Nick Girone-Maddocks, Tobias Faulkner, MandySteve music and Ope May. Saturday October 3, Wellington Football club is the location for MC Luke Honnoraty comedian, with Meera Higginson, Trevor Lloyd, Fodo Higginson, Chris Millington and The Fens.
Sunday October 4 is an Open Mic at Rule 7 with Keira and Stu amongst others.
For all events, doors open at 7.30 and entry is a food donation for the foodbank or a cash donation for Taunton Association for the Homeless.
If you can’t make it on the night, you can always drop a food donation in to Stacy at The Complementary Therapy Centre at Nurtured by Nature, South Street, Wellington, or at one of the venues, Rule 7 or The Football Club
