TAUNTON Choral Society is performing Elijah the oratorio by Mendelssohn at St James Church in Taunton on Saturday.

Elijah is an exciting story with effective solos and choruses.

The lead role will be taken by David Soar, an associate artist with Welsh National Opera.

Other soloists include Melanie Armitstead (soprano), Pamela Rudge (Alto) and Rupert Charlesworth (Bass).

The choir will be accompanied by Orchestra West.

The show will be held at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £15 for adults with concessions for students and children, available on the door, from Taunton Tourist Information Centre or by calling Linda on 01823-251803.
