SO this is it, the big one for Taunton Town Football Club.

I have been passionately following this club for the past 11 years, home and away, in all weathers.

I was there at the likes of Wantage Town, North Leigh and Bishops Cleeve on a Tuesday night with less than 10 other die-hard supporters behind the goal, as for much of the last decade while my club has fought off relegation.

But persistence has now eventually paid off with this FA Cup first round tie.

Yes, we would have loved to have been drawn to play the likes of Bolton, Blackpool, Portsmouth, Coventry, Millwall or Bristol Rovers.

Alas we have Barrow, a game I wholeheartedly believe we can win.

I’m going to stick my neck out and say 1-0 to the Peacocks.

RELATED: Taunton Town v Barrow game is sold out

Our lads will not be overawed by the fact Barrow play in a league three divisions higher.

We only need to step up that gear and hope Barrow slip one. That and Lady Luck on our side will win the day for Taunton Town.

It’s taken us seven tough FA cup games to get to this stage.

Whatever the result, now this club fills me with pride.

Let’s do this Peacocks!
