IT APPEARS to be increasingly obvious that the government has no idea of how best to extricate us from the EU.

They will no doubt cobble something up and try to sell it to us as the best thing since sliced bread.

The “brexiteers” constantly tell us to accept the referendum result but they forget that over 40 years ago a large majority of the electorate voted for the EU and we (the “remainers”) have had to put up with their whinging ever since.

The referendum in June was very close and no one seems any clearer on what form the outcome should take.

The main reason that people voted to leave seems to be immigration, and leaving the EU would see a reduction of people from Europe.

With trade deals being sought with India and China migrants from that part of the world would inevitably increase. Is this what the “brexiteers” voted for?

Sadly, with the increase in racist attacks since the referendum we have shown the world that we are not the tolerant, welcoming country that we’ve always professed to be.
