GOOD news is always welcome, especially at this time of the year.
Therefore I was pleased when I read that Somerset primary schools have done well in the recently published Key Stage 2 assessments.
Being a resident of Curry Mallet, I was, inevitably, especially delighted to see that our little school, Curry Mallet Church of England Primary School, came top in Somerset and in the top 20 schools nationally.
With 100 per cent of Year 6 pupils reaching the expected standard in reading, writing and maths, this is a great credit to teachers and pupils.
Thanks for this Christmas cheer.
