TAUNTON is tired of waiting.

Firepool, Coal Orchard, the NIDR, the list of unfinished projects - or projects not yet started - seems to get longer by the week.

Okay, large-scale projects take time to formulate and implement. But how long is too long?

Firepool, which could become the jewel in Taunton’s county-town crown, has been vacant for a decade.

A major building project to completely revamp Exeter’s Princesshay shopping centre took two years.

Firepool is a larger scheme, but is 10 years reasonable? And that’s if it was completed now, today.
