I JUST had to put pen to paper to praise the NHS.
Two years ago last August, I was diagnosed with a brain tumour the size of a golf ball.
I was taken up to Southmead, Bristol, to be operated on and was there for six days. The food was perfect and the medical team were exceptional and I thank them dearly.
Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with Cancer of the gullet last year; at this time, I was operated on in January of this year at Bristol Royal Infirmary.
I was there for 16 days, once again the medical team were exceptional.
I was laying in bed at 2am when a team came in and worked on a man who was nearly dead - but they brought him back to life, brilliant.
It was an honour to be in the same room with those people who saved him, doctors and nurses.
In August, I was diagnosed with an Inguinal Hernia which I went into Musgrove Park Hospital and had it repaired.
I hope this is the last time I go into hospital.
I wrote this letter not for any sympathy for myself but to highlight the marvellous staff of the NHS.
Thank you, NHS.
