I WAS very surprised that, at the end of a week which acknowledged 100 years since the success of the Suffragette movement, my husband received a letter from our MP, Rebecca Pow, on House of Commons paper, inviting him to sign a petition for government funding to further improve facilities at Musgrove Park Hospital.
At the end of the letter, it was stated that ‘strong’ local support would add weight to the bid, and that my husband could get as many relatives, neighbours and friends as he could to sign the petition.
I am not an appendage of my husband.
It would have been polite to address Mr and Mrs.
I am, after all, on the electoral role, thanks to my predecessors.
Ms Pow is welcome to join us in the 21st Century when she is ready.
