I GAVE blood on March 8 at the Cooper Associates County Ground.

Halfway through my donation, a cricket club committee member came in and told the staff that they no longer owned the car park and from now on we would have to pay to park while we gave blood.

I came home (recently) to find a £60 fine.

I couldn’t go and buy a ticket with a needle stuck in my arm and the blood transfusion service were advertising everywhere they could to get more donors in after the snow.

I don’t mind paying to park but we have been told before that we don’t need to while we give blood.

The cricket club asked for a list of registration numbers of donors vehicles while I was there so they could contact the parking company.

My registration number was on that list but obviously the cricket club and the parking company prefer profit to goodwill.
