MINDFULNESS is a programme which helps you draw a line between difficulties in the past and worries for the future, teaching you how to savour the present, thereby reducing stress, pain, anxiety and low mood.

Mindfulness, widely approved by the international medical community, teaches greater awareness of our thoughts, feelings and sensations through simple techniques, such as meditation and gentle movement.

The practices and techniques help to change the physiology of the brain and other systems in the body to elicit a feeling of calm, control, happiness and well-being.

Dr Maya Spencer and Karen Atkinson have been teaching mindfulness to individuals, groups and organisations for 16 years, and own MindfulnessUK in Canon Street, Taunton.

In the New Year they are offering:

A one-day workshop teaching you the key principles and practices of mindfulness to get you started (accredited for CPD by the FHT).

The eight-week mindfulness-based stress reduction course.
