SOMERSET County Council social worker Alison Millett has received national recognition for her outstanding work supporting colleagues across the county.

Alison picked up a silver award at last week’s Social Worker of the Year awards.

Her name was put forward for the Practice Teacher of the Year prize in recognition of her work as a professional educator, supporting, guiding and mentoring colleagues at all stages of their social work careers.

Alison said: “I was proud and honoured to receive this award, not just for me, but on behalf of all my colleagues who support the excellent learning and development culture within Somerset Adult Social Care, which ultimately contributes to the quality of the service we provide.”
