A NEW specialist support service has opened at a Taunton health centre aimed at helping those affected by road accidents.

The Road User Support Service (RUSS) is now available at The Terrace, a Humanistic Psychotherapy and Complementary Health Centre, based at Staplegrove Road.

The Terrace’s Mags Gooding and Annie Rivers, both accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, have been appointed by Rosemary Pell, manager of RUSS, to provide counselling to those who have been involved in or affected by a Road Traffic Incident (RTI). RUSS offers professional support with councillors who help people deal with the emotional impact of a road incident, including those who were in an accident, and their family, friends, bystanders or emergency professionals.

RUSS, which has helped 6,000 people over 15 years, also has sympathetic driving instructors who help to rebuild in-car confidence.

Professional organisations including solicitors, police, Victim Support, doctors, psychiatrists and psychologists can refer people to the service. For more information call 01823-338968, email post@the-terrace.co.uk or visit www.the-terrace.co.uk.
