Johnny Depp 'buys Quantocks house'

SPECULATION is rife that heartthrob actor Johnny Depp has just splashed out £2.5million on a house in Broomfield.
Several sources claim the 43-year-old star of Pirates of the Caribbean has been spotted house hunting in the South-West.
And the latest stories suggest he has snapped up a bolthole in the picturesque hamlet tucked away in the Quantocks near Kingston St Mary.
Locals have been looking out to try to catch a glimpse of Depp and his partner, French singer and actress Vanessa Paradis.
It has also been suggested that the couple have booked their two young children into a local independent school.
Estate agents we approached would "neither confirm nor deny" they had sold a property to the actor.
One said: "If you asked whether we'd sold to a particular person, the answer would always be, No' because we have a duty to protect our clients' anonymity."
A villager said: "I certainly haven't seen Johnny Depp around here and I've heard nothing of the rumours.
"If it was true, it would be nice to think he'd get involved in the community by going to church, joining local groups and maybe even taking part in the annual pantomime."

Bring it on! Although I would be amazed if it was true, Somerset is a gorgeous place and not so obviously a place that you could imagine a celeb! If it is true, Welcome Johnny & Vanessa, this part of the country is beautiful.

well i live in Wells and plenty of people have told me they have spotted johnny depp in bath? and lots of people say he is living in norton right now (near-ish bath) and has been seen in their Tesco quite a few times?

If Johnny is moving to our beautiful county I hope that we can show him how respectful us Somersetshire people can be....be great to think we could leave him alone to relax and enjoy our peace and tranquility...although if i did happen to see him I'd probably pass out!! hehe!!

The answer to the previous question, why do people want to settle in Britian, can only be the weather. We get some kind of weather here every single day, and sometimes several different varieties of weather in the same day, eg, sunshine, rain, gales, even snow, all in close order. That is quite something.

Yes its true he's moving to Merridge as hes tried to buy some land off someone I know to join his house. His children are def going to the local independant school nearby.

lol. My best friend lives about ten minutes from that place. When I lived in the same village and went to the same school (apparently the one Lily Rose and Jack are enrolled in) as her, her dad would give me a lift to school a lot and nearly every time he would proudly point out the block. It's so secluded - you can only catch a glimpse of a few walls here and there and that's it. Trees block the rest of it. But it is a beautiful area.

I think its wonderful that he is living in bath (if true) but i think even though bath is a small city, people should not start bombbarding him with cameras etc, he is obviosly moving for a quiet live.i wish them the very best, and hope they enjoy bath as much as i do!

Johnny doesnt own 'timberscombe house' as yet.The architect still holds the deeds until the auction of the property.Johnny will be purchasing the house and has been up to the house on numerous occasions to oversee the moderations. A good friend of mines father ( no names) landscaped the garden there and has met Johnny several times.

Why do all these rumours persist when we have recently read that an architect from London owns the house?. If anyone at all owns it, will they really be able to afford to heat it in cold weather, as it seems a big place, and heating oil is damnably expensive.
