150th birthday party

CURRY Mallet Primary School, in Taunton, has just celebrated its 150th birthday with a whole week of special events.

The children took part in drumming, dance and storytelling workshops.

A fashion catwalk show was put on by the children, which included costumes from 1857 to the present day.

In the afternoon a large number of visitors were able to enjoy various presentations of gymnastics, country and maypole dancing.

At the birthday party children enjoyed a special birthday cake, and each child was presented with a commemorative mug.

The end of the week was celebrated with a grand ball in a marquee for over two hundred people.
