ORGANISERS of this year's West Somerset Battle of the Bands competition promise it will be bigger and better than ever.
The first heat will be held at the Queens Hall on the seafront in Minehead on Saturday June 14 with a further heat in July.
The best three or four bands will qualify for the finals at the Watchet Festival in August with the ultimate winner going on to play on the main stage at the festival in 2009.
The heats also help to raise money for The Udder Stage at the Festival that will host the Battle of the Bands final.
Naomi Griffith, Battle of the Bands organiser said: "We are thrilled that the Queens Hall have offered to host the competition this year and are really pleased to be able to do our bit to raise money for The Udder Stage at Watchet Festival.
She added: "We are convinced that the competition will be even bigger and better this year."
Tickets for the heat will be on sale from mid June from the Queens Hall.
