Couple move into home they'd never seen
Ann and Jim Forrester in their new home

A COUPLE saw their new home in Taunton for the first time - the day they moved in.

Jim and Ann Forrester never set foot inside their apartment at Blagdon Hill Village until they took possession of the key.

"Thankfully, we loved it," said Mrs Forrester.

"In fact, we walked through all the rooms saying how beautiful everything was."

The couple reserved their two-bedroom apartment at the development for the over 60s on the day they first visited.

A second visit while it was under construction, saw them choose curtains and carpets from sample books.

The next time they drove into the village was the day they moved in.

Mrs Forrester added: "I suppose some people could see it as slightly rash but, after three years of looking at unsuitable properties, we knew this was the right move for us."

The couple have downsized from their three-bedroom Cheshire home to return to Mrs Forrester's South-West roots.

"I found Retirement Villages on the internet," said Mrs Forrester, 66.

"Blagdon Village is within walking distance of the town centre and close to beautiful countryside."

"It's wonderful to be back in the South-West and there are so many places nearby to explore.

"I've joined a couple of groups held in the village and we're also getting out to meet people in the town too."
