Affordable housing open day
AN affordable housing open day is being hosted by Taunton Deane Council at Deane House, Taunton, on Thursday, June 12.
Advice and guidance will be offered at the event from 11am-7pm by estate agents, financial advisers, mortgage firms, developers, social landlords and representatives from the council's housing service.
Visitors can register on the council's housing waiting list, sign up for current developments or those in the pipeline or simply pick up information leaflets.
A similar event last year attracted almost 500 visitors, mostly aged under 35, but also parents with adult children unable to buy on the open, commercial market.
Affordable housing is a top priority for the council as local house prices are high and average wages below the national average.
