OVER £6,000 was raised by charity walkers at this year’s Moonraker challenge on the Quantocks, it was announced at a prize-giving evening at the County Ground, Taunton.

The sponsorship raised by nearly 300 participants will mainly go to Taunton Street Pastors and Stand Against Violence.

The Marching Moles team won the award for most sponsorship after pulling in £835, the Academy Dream Team won the eight-mile single loop, Lydeard Gnomads, pictured, were first in the 13-mile double loop and top in the 18-mile challenge were Whoever Turns Up on the Night.
