THIS nostalgic old photo shows workers rebuilding Tarr Steps in Dulverton after the last time flooding washed away the Grade I-listed bridge in the 1950s.
The image was sent in by Pete Greedy of Wiveliscombe, whose late father William Henry Greedy is the man stood upright on the bridge, helping to lower one of the giant stone slabs in place.
More than half the stones which formed the iconic river crossing, believed to date from 1400AD, were washed away over Christmas when fallen trees crashed into them during a heavy bout of flooding, as pictured.
County councillor for Dulverton and Exmoor Frances Nicholson has vowed that all the missing stones will be collected to rebuild the bridge once again.
