POLICE Community Support Officers Adam Moore and Ian Warren have been addressing the issue of dumped shopping trolleys on the Halcon estate.

They conducted patrols last week, collecting 35 trolleys and returning them to their stores.

They are liaising with owners in an effort to cut down the number of trolleys left around the area.

PCSO Moore said: “Working with partner agencies, the beat team are committed to removing this eyesore from the local area long-term.

“Projects such as Link Power regularly use young volunteers to patrol the estate and remove trolleys as and when they appear, giving them a sense of pride in their local area and helping to improve the appearance of the Halcon ward.

“Also, fly-tipping is being dealt with robustly with timely referrals to the DLO and the swift removal of unsightly household and industrial waste.”

To report fly tipping or any other local issues, contact the beat team on 101.
