One-way system on Priory Bridge Road

One-way system on Priory Bridge Road One-way system on Priory Bridge Road

A ONE-WAY system is in operation on Priory Bridge Road from today (January 28).

Traffic will be able to travel from the roundabout towards Station Road but not the other direction.

The restriction will be in place until February 8 due to water main upgrades.

I bet Morrisons never knew just how many cars would fit in their access road and car park!!!! There is a thumping great matrix up by the Wickes roundabout telling you it will be closed from today in one direction (not the direction you are going!). I did not see a single sign up the pub end/station road to say that it is closed at the lights and all traffic HAS to turn into Morrisons. It was chock-a-block with people turning around by the flats, u-turns on the mini-roundabout, cutting through the filling station (18 minutes to get from my pump to the road) and every inch of tarmac in the carpark is covered with tin, the poor **** in the parking bays can't get out! Manic. Where is the Matrix to say access only when you get to the lights before turning into Priory Bridge Road? I didn't see anything and obviously nor did the hundreds of motorists causing the mayhem .....

The east bound closer is not working, I had to avoid a car coming down the wrong side of the road and the a articulated lorry trying to go east bound has well.it is not very well sign posted at station road end.

My wife attempted to leave Morrison's today at 2pm and finally got home to Bishops hull at 5pm .Morrison Management were all on show in the car park with the parking attendant and not one of them thought of diverting traffic or organising a one way system , but instead proceeded to take photos on there mobiles and laugh .I work in Station Road and there were 2 signs ,1 was under the bonnet of a parked car and the other covered by a transit van .Millions of pounds being spent and they cant get the signs correct whats the water going to be like or does the estimated 2 years mean 12

Its not up to Morrison's staff to divert traffic, Wessex water should have done a better job informing people

they did! Inform people I mean, they told everyone travelling in the direction that is open, just failed miserably at the end that was closed. The closure meant nothing to the cyclist either, he rolled down the road inside the closure in quite a leisurely fashion - all the rights of the road but none of the responsibility - oblivious to the fact that they should obey the rules of the road also. Does the 'PCSO' flash on the shoulder exempt them?

Sorry was not blaming Morrisons for the problem but a simple management decision to assist the traffic control in and out of there super market would of helped and certainly would have helped with there customers and buisness !

blimey, I came through today from Wickes and the thumping great Matrix has been moved! It is actually now up the right end of the road and there was peace and tranquility all around. How long did it take to realise they had it wrong?

Priory Avenue is next according to the signs I saw today.

As for smooth tarmac where was you driving too?

More pot holes and craters than the moon.

If Wessex Water and SCC worked together WW may have seen fit to carry out the work on this 'very busy patch of commuter belt' during half term on 8th February. Ours is not to reason why!
