HOUSES could be built on vital car parking spaces in Wellington.

Places for People has applied to build four houses on two parking areas at Penny Close and Howard Road, but promises to rectify parking problems by creating spaces on a former play area close to the development.

An on-line consultation period is open until February 18 – click here and search for application number 43/12/0130 to have your say.

Taunton Deane Council will make the final decision.

All this council thinks about is revenue from council tax and if that means building on carparks then that's ok with them. What I would like to know is why are they building on all the green belt land they can acquire by hook or by crook but no one wants to build on that great big piece of brown field by Morrisons.
