Musgrove nurse Vicky gears up for London Marathon

Vicky Raisey. Vicky Raisey.

A NURSE is running her first marathon to support a charity who impressed her taking patients to the A&E department at Musgrove Park Hospital.

Mother-of-two Vicky Raisey, 38, left, has already raised £1,300 for St John Ambulance ahead of taking part in the London Marathon on Sunday, April 21.

Vicky, who has worked at Musgrove for over ten years, said: “A lot of people don’t realise the work St John does and what it costs, but I see them being the difference between life and death all the time.

“I’ve always watched the London Marathon on TV and thought ‘I’d love to do that’, but I didn’t know what I was letting myself in for.”

The furthest Vicky has run before is 10km and she hopes to collect even more sponsorship than the £1,300 she has made through events such as quiz nights and a Hallowe’en party.
