Kitchen company in Blagdon Hill chosen as art venue

A KITCHEN makeover company in Blagdon Hill has been chosen as one of the venues for a county-wide celebration of art.

Riverside Kitchen and Tiles will display the work of six local artists as part of the annual arts festival, Somerset Arts Works (SAW).

Owner Sue Rhone, who began transforming the nearderelict building into a beautiful kitchen showroom two years ago, said: “I’m really excited.

“It’s nice to do something a bit different and there are a lot of artists out there who struggle at the moment and it’s quite nice to support them.”

The festival showcases artist-led projects and exhibitions, providing a platform for artists to collaborate and show new work. It is running later this year across 75 venues.

Marketing assistant for SAW, Chloe Skinner, said: “We have been very lucky to have applications from so many interesting venues and we are very pleased Riverside Kitchens are hosting a venue for Art Week Festival 2013.”
