THE annual festival comes to town and will transform Langport into a hive of entertainment over the next four days.

For Year Five Huish Episcopi Primary School student Alicia (pictured), the festival brochure will showcase her winning front page design.

During festival week you’ll find two open mic sessions for musicians and one for writers.

Whether it is watching bands, listening to lectures from artists and critics, it is all about worshipping at the pedestal of the great and good.

They have the prizegiving for their annual short story competition with the winning entries read out and a four-venue art exhibition with the awards presented by David Heath MP.

Then there is the community picnic on Cocklemoor, the local produce market and the Angel Craft Fair or you can try your hand at the week-long skittles competition.

There is a selection of local bands to listen to, Morris dancers, a storytelling evening and several hands-on workshops.

Members of Langport and Huish Youth Club designed the flags that will be decorating the town during Festival Week.

The Walter Bagehot Memorial Debate will this year focus on the very topical issue of Scotland in or out of the UK.
