Taunton Specsavers hearing centre wants to help normalise hearing loss by encouraging local residents to add regular hearing checks to their healthcare routine.
Leah Hill, Taunton Specsavers’ new full-time hearing aid audiologist, works across the Taunton and Tiverton stores.
She said: "Hearing loss can be upsetting for both the sufferer and those around them. Customers don’t always appreciate that hearing tests can be as important as eye tests.
"Regular tests are recommended, especially for people over 55 years of age, and annual tests should take place thereafter if any sort of hearing loss is detected."
The new store at 20 East Street is fitted with state-of-the-art hearing test equipment and offers a wide range of digital hearing aids starting from £495.
