THE gardens at Williton Hospital are in line for a much-needed spruce up thanks to the generosity of the Quantock Rotarians.
Members donated £1,000 raised through the 2012 Exmoor Iron Man after a tour of the hospital grounds highlighted the need for restoration.
Bernard Maynard-Smith and Brian Jago, joint projects chairmen of Quantocks Rotary, said: “We hope that this donation will be the first of a number to not only ensure restoration of the stroke unit garden but also enhance the facility to provide a peaceful and enlivening environment for patients, families and staff alike.
“We hope texture, colour and fragrance will be incorporated in the next phase of development to enrich and speed rehabilitation at the community hospital.
“We encourage any organisation interested in active living and wellbeing in later life to support this very worthy project.”
