ORGANISERS of the World Wellington Boot Throwing Championship hope this weekend’s showpiece eclipses years gone by.
The competition, which attracts competitors from all over the world, will be staged at Court Fields School, Wellington, on Saturday (September 14).
There will be an additional throwing area, which will include mini welly throwing area for youngsters, live music from Wellington Silver Band, bouncy castles, children’s entertainers, face painting, a bar and various other trade stands.
The event will be opened by Wellington Mayor Gloria Copley at 12noon and runs throughout the afternoon.
Organiser Sue White, pictured, said: “We are looking forward to this year’s event and we’re getting there now.
“There will be more than 30 stalls on the school’s playing field so hopefully it will be a great day.”
It has organised for the fifth year running by Wellington Experience, a spin off from the former Chamber of Trade and Commerce, with donations from the raffle going towards the Wellington Majorettes’ trailer fund.
