8:00pm Thursday 31st October 2013 in News
PEOPLE interested in helping shape the future of the ambulance service are being urged to put themselves forward for the role of governor.
Prospective governors are being invited to a workshop next Friday, November 8 in Exeter run by the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT).
SWASFT chairman Heather Strawbridge said: “Governors are a vital link between the ambulance service and its members, staff, stakeholders and wider public, ensuring that the voices of those they represent are heard at the highest level in the organisation.”
To be eligible, you must be over 16 years of age, be able to commit about eight days a year to meetings and workshops, as well as attend public events.
The nominations process starts on November 19 and finishes on December 17, with elections by postal ballot taking place during January.
