SHOPPERS were able to get into the festive spirit at the annual Christmas Shopping Event was held to raise money for Old Cleeve First School.

Stalls with festive gifts and cards from local retailers and crafters were available to purchase, with part of the profits going towards the school.

Kirsty Cornish, chair of the Parent, Teacher and Friends of the School Association, who organised the evening said: “I love the school and trying to raise money for it and this is a lovely way to get the community together and help our local retailers.

“It was an amazing night and we’ve had some new members on the committee this year who have worked very hard so thank you to them.

“It’s a nice way to start your Christmas shopping and we had lots of positive feedback.”

Over £1000 was raised for the school and more than 200 people turned up throughout the evening on Friday November 8.

Kirsty has already booked the date for next year’s Christmas Fair.
