THERE'S sure to be a 'Casualty' in Minehead today as the BBC are filming for the long-running show.

Scores of residents have been heading along to see crews filming for the BBC One show, aired on Saturday nights.

It is believed that they are filming a 'near-miss' accident on the railway line.

Paul Conibeare, general manager at West Somerset Railway said: "We are delighted to have Casualty filming today, we do apologise to local residents for the road closure but there are diversions in place so it shouldn't be causing too much of a problem.

"About two weeks ago they contacted us and the episode will be transmitted in March, so not long to go.

"It's not a railway accident as such but it does involve the railway and level crossing."

Steve Jervis from West Somerset Railway added: "They're using one of our diesels which looks like a modern freight train and I think one of the main actors in the show is saved from being hit by the train but then there is a twist."

Seaward Way will be closed until 5pm this evening.
