THERE were triple celebrations in Dunster as three women all celebrated their 90th birthdays.

Birthday girls Sheila Hyam, Bet Sully and Joyce Foster were treated to afternoon tea with family and friends.

The trio all go to the weekly lunch at Riverside Gardens. Norma Stevens, tenant panel chair for Magna Housing Association, presented Sheila with a bouquet of flowers.

She said: “We like to celebrate significant birthdays wherever we can. “The fact that we’re celebrating three birthdays in one go makes it extra special.”

Irene Bigg, a member of the tenant panel, presented flowers to Joyce, and Joan Toogood, the oldest resident at Riverside Gardens, presented a bouquet to Bet.

Norma said: “Bet’s daughter made cakes for the three birthday girls, and amazingly the flowers on the cakes matched the bows on the bouquets each lady received.”

Bet’s granddaughter, Kirsty, decorated the communal room at Riverside with a lovely pink colour scheme.

Kirsty usually goes along to the weekly bingo and is well known among the residents.
