LOWERING the voting age to 16, expanding mental health services and funding for further education were among issues discussed at a meeting of politically-minded young people in Taunton.

The 41 South-West members of the UK Youth Parliament had a chance to quiz a panel comprising Wells MP Tessa Munt, the leader of the Green Party, Natalie Bennett, leader of Somerset County Council, John Osman, and the youngest female councillor in the country, Kate Taylor, of Plymouth, at a Question Time style event this month.
