YOUNG cricket stars at Taunton’s King’s College and King’s Hall School have started their winter training.

The two schools have 30 county players from under-10s to under-17s and have been working with former Somerset cricketer Ben Phillips, who has joined King’s as a strength and conditioning and bowling coach.

Director of cricket Phil Lewis said: “We are really lucky to have someone of Ben's expertise on board to add to our excellent group of coaches here.

“We pride ourselves on developing talent from a young age and this can be seen with the wealth of talent we have across all age groups.

“We are already building towards what will hopefully be another excellent summer and look forward to seeing all of our teams in action again once it's a bit warmer.”
