A FIR tree was planted at Bishop's Hull House in Bishop's Hull, to mark 100 years since one of the most infamous episodes in the fight to secure votes for women.
At the Epsom Derby in 1913, Suffragette Emily Davidson died while trying to throw a “votes for women” banner over the king's horse.
The memorial tree was planted by 41 Members of UK Youth Parliament from across the South-West.
They have been working on a Lottery-funded Heritage Heroes project, celebrating people in the South West who campaigned for change including the Suffragettes and the Tolpuddle Martyrs.
