BUDDING entrepreneurs from Minehead First School came face to face with their own Dragons’ Den panel last week to put forward their ideas.

The Friends of Minehead First School came up with the idea to give children some input into how to spend money raised by them.

In their houses, pupils from across the year groups got together to come up with an idea of how they would spend up to £1,000 on something for the school.

Three year four pupils from each house then had to present their ideas to the five Dragons in assembly on December 4.

Ideas included a wildlife viewing den, a scooter ramp, a giant clock and some new playground equipment.

The winning idea was a chemistry lab.

The children asked the Dragons for some white coats, protective eye gear and some chemical testing sets.

Chairman of the Friends of Minehead First School, Debbie Harris, said: “The winning team had really thought about how their idea would benefit the whole school.

There were some brilliant ideas and we were proud of how confident our pupils were in speaking to such a large audience and to the Dragons.”
