MEMBERS of the Taunton Deane Male Voice Choir have presented more than £4,000 to a military charity.
The £4,110 presented to Care for Casualties, the Rifles Charity, was raised at a single concert.
Publicity officer for the choir, Steven Reed, said: “Our goal was to raise £3,000 and we exceeded this because of the huge generosity of Somerset people who truly support their military personnel. “It was an incredible musical event and extra special because it was the first time in our 67-year history that we shared a stage with a military band: the Salamanca Band of 6 Rifles.”
Col Mike Smith, of the Rifles Regiment, said: “This cheque will mean much to the families of bereaved soldiers and of the injured.”
