It is believed the incident is now clear.

It is believed straps securing the load snapped and the tractor forks, covered in white packaging, fell into the road.

Police and recovery crews were at the scene from about 7.45am.

The load was a piece of agricultural equipment and traffic on the busy rat run and commuter route from Ilminster Road into Hamilton and Bridgwater roads was disrupted while recovery work continued.

WHILE many motorists have been braving their way around the area amid torrential rain, there was another hazard for road users in Taunton this morning, after a lorry shed its load at the junction of Hamilton Road and Ilminster Road a short time ago.
