The A38 at Kennford has fully re-opened after a man was seriously injured in a crash this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision on the A38 at around 6.52am, following the two vehicle road traffic collision on the A38 southbound just past the Partridge cycle shop.

The collision involved a Ford Transit van which left the carriageway into a hedge and a Land Rover which overturned.

A male driver of the van was initially trapped but released by fire service and flown by air ambulance to Derriford hospital with serious injuries.

The A38 was closed until mid morning, causing tailbacks to junction 31 of the M5.

Drivers were urged to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
