PUPILS from year one at St Michael’s School in Minehead have been enjoying trips to Beacon Forest School with their teacher, Mr Catley.

Every Thursday pupils visit a woodland area and take part in a number of different activities.

Mr Catley said: “We do a range of different actitivies, all linked to the national curriculum. “It’s about developing the children’s skills and helping them build their selfesteem.

“The activities are all seasonal based so recently we’ve been making bird feeders and shelter and homes for little animals.

“We heat up some water and have a warm drink before heading back to school.

“The children really enjoy it.”
