THE team at Tiverton Travelodge are celebrating after benefitting from a company-wide multi-million pound refurbishment programme.

The 40-room hotel at the Sampford Peverell Service Area of the M5 has been refurbished in just one week without any disturbance to the day-to-day operation of the hotel – including new room designs and the introduction of a new luxury bed.

The work at Tiverton Travelodge is part of a company-wide brand investment of £223 million, to help further grow the business, strengthen the brand offering and make Travelodge the best value hotel chain in the UK.

Margaret Mazepa, Tiverton Travelodge hotel manager, said: “We are very excited to have benefitted from this investment.

“The work was carried out with no disturbance to our day-to-day operation and the feedback we have received from customers has been outstanding.

“Everyone loves the new warm, contemporary feel of our new room and there is no doubt the hero of the room is definitely the Travelodge Dreamer bed.

“The demand for good quality branded budget accommodation in the area is growing at great pace, and now we have a new room design we are offering even greater value in the local marketplace.”

By autumn this year, 85% of Travelodge’s estate will incorporate the new room design, meaning the makeover will see an average of more than 50 rooms refurbished every single day since it began in March 2013.

The scale of the refurbishment programme means one-million man hours will go into the refit, along with 60,000 tins of paint and 30,000 new beds – enough to cover nine football pitches.
